Dark forest berries, sweet extract cherries, Earl Grey bergamot, noble French oak spice, and black tea tannins. The world's highest-pedigree non-alcoholic red, crafted from a 98-point Austrian cult cuvée.

Crafted in Mittelburgenland, Austria, by the estate Heribert Bayer / In Signo Leonis, Zeronimo Leonis Blend marks a historic milestone in non-alcoholic fine wine. The foundational base of this bottling is none other than the estate's flagship icon red, In Signo Leonis (awarded 98 points by Falstaff), making it the first dealcoholized wine in the world derived from such a highly rated benchmark cuvée.

Sourced from 60+ year-old vines on the famed Neckenmarkter Hochberg, the blend unites Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 24 months in new French oak barriques before undergoing gentle low-temperature vacuum dealcoholization with proprietary aroma recovery. Named the world's best non-alcoholic red by international sommeliers and media (Wine Enthusiast, wein.plus, Austrian Zero Awards), it provides authentic tannic grip, cool-climate mineral tension, and an ethereal dry finish at less than 0.2% ABV (11 cal and 2.0g sugar per 100ml).

Deep ruby-garnet pour, blackberry and bergamot aromas, 24-month barrique-tannin core, and a long dry finish—<0.2% ABV, derived from 98-point In Signo Leonis.

TASTING NOTES

The Appearance: Deep, luminous ruby-garnet core with rich violet rim reflections and a dense, clinging vinous coat along the glass.

The Aroma: Aristocratic, multi-layered, and cool. Opens with striking notes of crushed blackberries, ripe dark cherries, and wild blueberries, intertwined with Italian bergamot, orange zest, black tea leaf, Madagascar vanilla, and toasted cedar spice.

The Palate: Tight-knit, dry, and elegantly structured. Juicy dark fruit extract meets an agile, lively acidity (5.5 g/L), supported by genuine fine-grained wood tannins, subtle minerality, and savory complexity with just 20 g/L natural residual grape sugars.

The Finish: Long, dry, and refined, leaving a mouth-watering interplay of dark berry skins, noble French oak char, and refreshing citrus-tea astringency that cleanses the palate.

PAIRS WITH

Roasted, Grilled & Braised Meats: Exceptional alongside dry-aged ribeye steak, rack of lamb with rosemary, braised beef short ribs, or roasted duck breast.

Rich Umami & Earthy Courses: Outstanding with wild mushroom risotto, charred eggplant with miso glaze, truffle polenta, or roasted root vegetable ragout.

Mediterranean & Japanese Fare: Complements dishes featuring tomato, soy, fermented pastes, or seared tuna where the wine's agile acidity and bergamot lift shine.

Frequently Asked Questions — Zeronimo - Leonis Blend

Expert answers to common questions about non-alcoholic options, ingredients, and delivery across Canada.

How should I store premium de-alcoholized wine after opening?

Because alcohol acts as a preservative, de-alcoholized wines (like Benjamin Bridge or Dr. Zenzen) should be tightly sealed, refrigerated immediately after opening, and consumed within 3–5 days for optimal flavor.

What are 'Proxies' or 'Alternative' wines?

Proxies are sophisticated, non-alcoholic beverages crafted using tea, juices, spices, bitters, and vinegar to mimic the complexity, tannins, and acidity of wine—without relying on fermentation.

What are the benefits of joining the Søbr Wine Club?

Members receive exclusive access to new releases, monthly curated selections, and special member pricing. It is the easiest way to explore our curated selection of non-alcoholic wines without the guesswork.

What is the difference between '0.0% ABV' and 'Non-Alcoholic?

Products labeled 0.0% ABV contain absolutely no alcohol. Some products labeled 'non-alcoholic' may contain trace amounts of alcohol (less than 0.5% ABV), which is similar to the levels found in ripe fruit or fruit juice.

Is 0.5% really alcohol-free?

In Canada, any product containing less than 1.1% alcohol-by-volume (ABV) is considered alcohol-free because our body metabolizes that amount of alcohol faster than we can feel any effect.

More commonly world-wide, any product containing 0.5% ABV or less is considered alcohol-free.

Fun fact: many foods have some level of ABV due to their natural fermentation. Kombucha, breads made with yeast, overripe bananas, fruit juice, yogurt, soy sauces & vinegars can range from 0.2% ABV up to 1.2% ABV.

The Craft Winemaking Architecture

  • Icon-Cuvée Foundation: Created directly from the estate's 98-point In Signo Leonis red blend, establishing unprecedented raw-material pedigree for an alcohol-free wine.
  • Old-Vine Mittelburgenland Terroir: Harvested from 60+ year-old vines on the schist and limestone slopes of the Neckenmarkter Hochberg (Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, and Cabernet Sauvignon).
  • 24 Months New Barrique Maturation: Two full years in new French oak barrels imparts deep wood tannins, fine-grained structure, and complex lactone-vanilla notes before alcohol removal.
  • Low-Calorie Gastronomic Profile: Fully vegan, halal-certified, and energy-conscious at only 11 kcal / 46 kJ per 100ml with tight, food-friendly structural balance.

Pro-Tip: Treat Zeronimo Leonis Blend with the same ritual as a high-end cellar red. Give it 30 to 60 minutes of slow aeration in a wide Burgundy glass at 13–14°C. The gradual contact with air softens the oak tannins and allows the sophisticated bergamot and black tea notes to emerge alongside roasted or umami-rich main courses.

Good product for non alcohol drinkers. Smells and taste like red wine, but its the after taste that makes it only 4 stars. You lose alot of the hint of flavours. I would buy again but pair it with a meal and not with cheese, crackers and cured meats.
