The brewery is owned by the seventh generation of the Swinkels Family, and we are proudly 100% independent. Our brewing knowledge and expertise has been handed down from generation to generation over the last three centuries.
Own mineral spring
Beer is more than 90% water, making it one of the most important ingredients. So it is no big surprise that water is a vital quality and taste driver.
To maintain the best quality, the Bavaria brewery has its own mineral water spring from the Eiffel-Ardennes region between Germany and Belgium. The mineral water we use for our Bavaria beers is extracted at 200 meters depth and purified over a thousand years through a natural filtration process. This gives our Bavaria beers such a refreshing and smooth character.
Own malting plant
What makes Bavaria so unique is the malting plant on-site at our brewery. This ensures full control of the quality of our malt. After malting the barley in-house, we transfer the fresh malt from the maltery into the brewing kettles. This way, we ensure to use our malt as fresh as possible for our Bavaria beers. Our Maltster and Head Brewer work closely together to brew the most refreshing beer possible based on our secret family recipe.
Quality from Holland
The Bavaria brewery is still located on the original site of our family farm in the small Dutch village of Lieshout, in the South of the Netherlands.
