Gruvi was founded in Denver in 2019 by siblings Anika and Niki Sawni, who wanted a genuine social drink without the alcohol after noticing how few good options existed. Rather than simply removing alcohol from a finished beer or wine, Gruvi builds its recipes from the ground up to keep the flavour intact, and the approach has paid off: Gruvi Golden won Best Non-Alcoholic Beer in the World at the 2022 World Beer Cup, while the brand's sangria and dry red wine picked up medals at the IWSC the same year.
