From the mountainous terroirs of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, Yunnan Bold is a deeply expressive interpretation of Pu’er tea, showcasing both the raw intensity and refined depth that make this tea so revered. Crafted from Menghai Sheng Tai Pu’er, grown at 800 meters, this bold and layered infusion captures the earthy soul of Yunnan through Lao’s signature Mizudashi-inspired hot and cold extraction, enhanced with oak chip infusion for added warmth and structure.

The result is an elegant yet grounding experience — woody, musky, and umami-rich — a non-alcoholic expression that speaks to the art of fermentation and the patience of aging.

Each Thea Placida is crafted from a slow infusion of whole-leaf teas and thoughtfully chosen ingredients, nothing more, nothing less.

We begin with long-fermented tea bases and a touch of wine vinegar to establish acidity, structure, and length. To this foundation, we add premium teas from terroirs like Du Yun Mao Jian (Guizhou) and Menghai Pu’Er (Yunnan), carefully infused to preserve the aromatic complexity of the leaf.

Oak and botanicals are layered with precision to shape texture and depth, like in natural winemaking.

No carbonation. No flavourings. No preservatives.

Just leaves, time, and care... for a drink that honours tea at its fullest expression.

Appearance: Aged gold with bronze reflections and a gentle haze; dense and fluid in texture.

Aroma: Evocative scents of incense, dried figs, and aged wood with a musky, earthen depth.

Palate: Opens with tension and earthy complexity; deep flavors of damp soil and noble woods unfold into umami layers of shiitake and white miso. A slow, softening texture leads to a long finish of ripe cherry
